Iolite and Sterling OOAK Earrings

Iolite and Sterling OOAK Earrings

Beautiful light blueish purple iolite stones create the focals for these beautiful one-of-a-kind earrings.  Set in sterling silver, these iolites are a gemmy blue-purple that lets the light shine through.  The settings have been given a patina and then lovingly finished to a warm, semi-matte finish.  Truly one of a kind.

I have hand patterened and then cut out the back of these earrings just every so slightly, to allow the light to shine through.  Even just a wee opening will be amplified at the front as the light plays off the facets on the iolites.  So pretty.

The dangles are suspended from my handmade earwires, made of Argentium Silver (think Sterling Silver, but with a higher silver content to the alloy - less tarnish and less possible metal allergies).  They are substantial and sturdy, but extremely lightweight.

The overall length from lobe to the bottom of the earring is almost than 1.5", with the ioltes themselves are just at 1/2" long and just about 1/3" wide.  These earrings are cute, little, swingy and really pretty.

All of my jewelry is made, one at a time, in my northern Michigan studio using timeless methods of hand crafting with sterling and stone.   Your new piece comes packaged in a handmade cloth pouch, suitable for gifting. I hope you truly love your new jewelry!!

  • Care Instructions

Caring for your new jewelry is easy.  The best way to care for it, is to wear it!!  Jewelry that is worn tarnishes more slowly, so wear and enjoy.

Should you notice a bit of tarnish, you may use a Sunshine Cloth or any other dry polish cloths.  Please avoid any pastes or liquids when polishing.  If you have a piece with stones, please note that anything liquid or paste may harm the stones or discolor them.

If trying to sanitize, sterling silver jewelry may be wiped gently with alcohol.  Avoid rubbing alcohol on the stones - I can't guarantee the results.  Please also avoid using bleach on sterling silver, as it will turn black.  If it does, a polish with a Sunshine cloth will have it good as new!!
