"Blessed" Toggle Heart Necklace
"Blessed" is one of my "toggle heart" necklaces.
The music on the interior of the heart comes from a tattered vintage hymnal, destined for the landfill. I use jeweler's grade resin to embed the piece of the hymnal page into the toggle heart. In doing so, the resin mixes with the vintage paper to create warm hues, varying with the composition of the paper and it's age. It's always a mystery what I will get until I make the piece, and that's part of the magic!
The heart itself, and it's toggle are a high quality sterling overlay. The remainder of the necklace is stainless steel. "Blessed" has an 18" neck chain, meaning that it will clasp and hang at just about the collar bone. I like this length, especially for wearing with open neckline shirts or crew necklines.
The "toggle heart" necklaces will always hang just a little bit askew, not straight up and down. I like the unique nature of the way they hang - it's something different and unexpected.
Each one of my pieces is one of a kind. The necklace you see is the one in the pictures!
Your necklace will arrive gently packaged in a handmade cloth pouch, ready for gifting or for carrying your new treasure with you when you travel. I hope you truly love your new necklace!
Caring for your new jewelry is easy. The best way to care for it, is to wear it!! Jewelry that is worn tarnishes more slowly, so wear and enjoy.
Should you notice a bit of tarnish, you may use a Sunshine Cloth or any other dry polish cloths. Please avoid any pastes or liquids when polishing. If you have a piece with stones, please note that anything liquid or paste may harm the stones or discolor them.
If trying to sanitize, sterling silver jewelry may be wiped gently with alcohol. Avoid rubbing alcohol on the stones - I can't guarantee the results. Please also avoid using bleach on sterling silver, as it will turn black. If it does, a polish with a Sunshine cloth will have it good as new!!
