It all began many years ago with a simple rubber stamp and some ink. One thing led to another, as it seems like these things usually do, and here I am making mixed media art and jewelry. I'm workshop trained from some of the finest artist/teachers in the business right now - MaryBeth Shaw, Pam Carriker, Susan Lenart Kasmer, Deryn Mentock, Richard Salley, Jessica Jordan, Diane Cook, Sandra Duran Wilson, and so many others - and although my formal training is in music, these fine artisan/teachers have given me the tools to help express my inner artsy girl!
About my jewelry:
Signature items I make include vintage hymnal page pieces – choosing the words in the pieces of music to highlight that will have meaning and inspiration to the wearer. Giving life to pages that once inspired another generation in singing of their faith.
I love to melt silver onto copper, creating reticulation lines and swirls. The patterns created when hot fire meets cool silver cannot be predicted or controlled, making each piece truly one of a kind. Couple those pieces with delicate pearls and the result to me, is magic!
Come see me in person at an art fair and see what I’ve been inspired by lately. Or see what I’ve curated to display at one of my partner venues. Or follow my Facebook, Instagram or website to see what’s new. I’m still roaming and exploring, still enjoying the time worn and vintage and the beauty of nature!!
